Buying Your Kitchen

You must realise by now that everybody in the kitchen industry is ready for you. They have done their preparation and honed their operations for one purpose only: to entice you to spend your hard earned cash (or yet to be earned debt).

But are you ready for them? Have you done your preparation? Have you worked out what you want, how much you will pay, who works for whom, who will be in charge and who will be accountable?

Do not enter the fray until you have prepared your plan of action. BE PREPARED.

The best outcome you can possibly hope for is to end up with the kitchen and appliances you really want at the best price possible. To achieve this end you must not think in terms of winners and losers. It should no more be your aim to get one over on the kitchen company than to let them rip you off. The most productive, satisfying and profitable outcome in the relationship between yourself and the kitchen supplier is WIN-WIN.

What does that mean? How can you both win?

Buying your kitchen is not a war. Do not imagine that you have to win in order to get best value. The kitchen supplier is out to make a profit from you, yes but if you have chosen wisely, you will profit from their expertise. By providing you with excellent service the people in the kitchen company can feel good, their reputation will be enhanced and they will earn an honest living. By developing a positive relationship you both get what you want so you both win. However, it is your money, your kitchen, your home and your lifestyle that is at stake so you should do your utmost to protect yourself. You are in charge.

There follows a list of decisions, inquiries you must make before you set foot in a kitchen showroom.
