You will be pretty knowledgeable on the subject and no kitchen salesperson will be able to pull the wool over your eyes easily.
If you have any concerns about price, quality, specification or anything else, you have plenty of opportunity to quiz the sales people for the answers you need. If you have chosen to use a kitchen designer as your project manager that person should have done the spadework for you and be able to reassure you about what you are buying and how much you are paying.
There comes a point at which a certain level of trust has to be established. If at the point of signing the contract, you feel that you cannot really trust your kitchen maker or designer then you have clearly chosen poorly or are not yet ready to sign.
