Buying Your Kitchen
5: Do the legwork 2
You will find that, like most people, kitchen designers respect honesty and will not think that what you are doing is unreasonable. They will also respect your preparations and will be particularly keen to work with you because they can see that you know what you want and can make decisions.
This might all seem like hard work and even unnecessary. On the other hand you are contemplating a purchase of many thousands of dollars, which is not to be taken lightly. After all, you would not buy a car without a test drive; if it was a used car you would probably get an AA report; and you would not buy a car that inspection showed to be a lemon. So surely you would not buy a kitchen without the same level of care.
The author negotiated and sold hundreds of kitchens but no longer owns a kitchen company. When he next buys a kitchen the above procedure will be followed. Yes it involves a lot of work but it is during this process that big savings can be made. If you break down your savings into an hourly rate you will probably find that your work earned you considerably more than your job does. This is where you can earn that island holiday!
What you will have done by following all the steps above, is set yourself up to get the kitchen you want and a reasonable price. You have also set the groundwork of a successful and rewarding experience in doing so.
